Biography

Lelde Romanoff (nèe Herasckova) was the wife of Ivan Romanoff and mother of Natasha Romanoff. She was born on June 12, 1970 in Norilsk, Russia. When she was fifteen, she met Ivan Romanoff, a handsome eighteen year old soldier. The two began dating despite their five year age gap. When Lelde turned sixteen, she married a now nineteen year old Ivan. On December 3, 1984, she gave birth to a daughter whom she named Natalia, meaning "Gift from God." Unbeknownst to her, General Dreykov, the overseer of the cryptic Red Room, saw genetic potential in Little Natalia and decided to purchase her despite Ivan and Lelde's protests. Ivan died of an unknown infectious disease years after his infant daughter was kidnapped. She was later killed by Dreykov to avoid exposing the Red Room.
