He came to prominence for portrayingย Shane Walshย on theย AMCย horror drama seriesย The Walking Deadย (2010โ2012; 2018), where he was a starring cast member in the first two seasons. Bernthal achieved further recognition asย Frank Castle/The Punisherย in theย Marvel Cinematic Universe, appearing in theย second seasonย ofย Daredevilย (2016), theย spin-offย seriesย The Punisherย (2017โ2019), and theย revivalย seriesย Daredevil: Born Againย (2025โpresent), and Spider-Man: Brand New Day (2026). For his recurring guest role as restaurant owner Michael Berzatto in the seriesย The Bearย (2022โpresent), he won aย Primetime Emmy Award.ย
