Biography

Jaylee Hamidi is a Chinese-Canadian actress, writer, poet and producer. She is most known for her roles in Supernatural (2005), Supergirl (2015), A Teacher (2020) and An Imperfection (2015). Her most recent work includes Christmas of Yes (2023), Scented with Love (2022) and the upcoming tv series How to Die Alone. She also co-produced the thriller drama movie An Imperfection (2018). Jaylee was born in Shanghai, China to her Chinese mother and Iranian-Kurdish father. They immigrated to Canada when Jaylee was a baby and she has called Vancouver home ever since. Jaylee developed a keen interest in acting at a young age after family friends introduced her to the film and television industry. After working on a few commercials, including for Ford and the Gap, and a small role on the YTV series adaptation of the Addams Family, young Jaylee's interest soon developed into a passion through the world of theatre. She performed in several stage plays, including History in the Making (2010) where she played Ella Le'Clair (Director, Writer, Producer, Costumes), and in Baggage (2009) where she played Serena, at Presentation House, Canada. A multi-disciplinary artist, Jaylee is also a writer, her poetry having been featured in online publications including For Women Who Roar. She's been featured in national and international commercials, as well as print campaigns.
