Everyone on both sides froze as they watched April stab her own girlfriend in the back and the Kryptonian powers extinguish within the once Superior Girl. April watched as Mara's feet came back down to Earth; she hoped that with Mara's power vanished, her corruption would similarily disappear. April tried to persuade Mara into giving up her cruel crusade of justice and instead live a normal life together. April held Mara in her arms, hoping her love would warm her to accept her newfound humanity. As April held Mara, she felt a hand grab her pistol; Mara pulled out her girlfriend's gun and aimed it towards April's head.
