The series treats Norse cosmology with absolute fidelity to the Eddas while giving each divine being the psychological depth of a fully realized character. Special attention is paid to the portrayal of Odin: not as a simple all-father but as a profoundly mortal god who makes difficult choices with full knowledge of Ragnarök approaching.
