Magneto's deceased wife and mother of the Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver and Polaris make Erik forget his hatred of humanity, but after soldiers discover Erik is a mutant they hunt him and Magda down and kill her causing Erik to retake his hatred of humanity then leaves babies Wanda and Pietro with a family in Sokovia and stays with Lorna to take care of her, when Xavier shows up to advise his friend.
