Neil Parry is Howl's nephew in Whales. He loves computer games and seems to be somewhat surly, but allows his father to play cricket with him which shows a good-natured streak. He seems about 12 and has dark hair and eyes, like his mother. Somehow a piece of paper with Neil's homework assignment got mixed up with the piece of paper with a conjuring spell that Howl was going to leave with Michael. This allows Sophie - who accompanies Howl to Wales to figure out what has happened - a chance to see Howl's complicated family life in his home world, and it gives Howl a chance to recognize some kind of connection between the missing spell and Neil's seductive English teacher, Miss Angorian.
