Wonder Woman has spent three years serving as Themyscira’s ambassador to the world, balancing diplomacy with her duties as a superhero. After defeating a monstrous creature in Gateway City without killing it, Diana encounters Donna Troy, a mysterious young woman being hunted by the sorceress Circe. When Donna invokes the ancient Hecatea, Diana becomes magically bound to protect her. As Steve Trevor investigates Donna’s impossible history, Diana discovers that the monsters pursuing her are connected to Olympus. When the waters of Mnemosyne restore Donna’s memories, the truth is revealed: Donna is actually Troia, a second clay-born champion created by the Titans to oppose the gods should Zeus become a tyrant. Zeus, believing Donna responsible for the death of Hercules, kidnaps her and prepares to execute her, forcing Diana and Circe into an uneasy alliance. As Diana journeys through the mythological world to rescue Donna, her belief in compassion is repeatedly challenged. Circe, convinced that fear is the only way to create peace, ultimately betrays Diana and attempts to assassinate Zeus with the Sickle of Cronus. Trapped within the Labyrinth and tormented by the Furies, Diana nearly loses faith in her ideals until the Minotaur she once spared helps her escape. Reaching Olympus, Diana refuses Zeus’s offer to release her from the Hecatea in exchange for abandoning Donna. Even after Donna frees Diana from the oath, Diana chooses to stand beside her—not because she is obligated to, but because Donna has become her sister. Together they confront Zeus, and Diana ultimately forces the King of the Gods to end his pursuit of Donna through the strength of her compassion and conviction. With Donna embracing her identity as Troia and the reformed Minotaur joining the Themysciran Embassy, peace seems possible—until Ares reveals that he has been manipulating the conflict from the shadows, setting the stage for a much larger war.
