  • marcusellison The last 2 episodes of the show center around the big Malcolm Colcord reveal and the aftermath. It turns out that Malcolm Colcord is Romulus in disguise, a very old mutant and James' true father. After living for hundreds of years with no worthy adversary, one day Romulus decided to try and produce a child, with the hopes that they’d display powers like his and one day be a threat to him. After several failures, James was born and once Romulus immediately sensed something special about him he decided to kept tabs on him from afar. At every point of James’ life where things seemed to be working out Romulus set forth a tragedy to further forge him into a vengeful warrior; the biggest tragedy being him sending Victor Creed to kill Silver Fox. When James joined Team X, Romulus took over the Weapon Plus program and had James kidnapped and experimented on to forge him into the ultimate killing machine. He then sent James after Charles Xavier with the hopes that he’d heal his fractured mind and inadvertently send his son right back to where it all started for a showdown 100+ years in the making. After a gruesome battle, James is able to overcome Romulus; putting his greatest demon to rest. In the show’s closing minutes James is shown meditating at a log cabin and telepathically says “Hey Chuck, you got a minute?” as the screen cuts to black. In the post credits stinger, we see eyes snap open and the camera slowly pulls out to reveal a room in flames and littered with dead bodies except for one unfortunate soul; the slowly stands up and walks towards the victim revealing 3 claws (2 from the knuckles & 1 from the wrist).
