A 16-year-old girl named Kit Tyler is moving to New England from Barbados, where she has lived all her life, in the book The Witch of Blackbird Pond, which is set in 1687. Her recently deceased grandfather was the only member of her family that she was aware of. She will therefore be moving in with her Aunt Rachel and Rachel's family. When Kit first arrives in Wethersfield, New England, Hannah Tupper, an old woman, becomes her new friend. However, others suspect Kit is involved with witchcraft because Kit is friends with Hannah, who is accused of doing witchcraft. read more
