Lord James Browning I is a leading member of Parliament and a very ruthless politician, has high expectations for his grandson to follow in his footsteps, very critical about his life choices, and clearly doesn’t approve of his grandson’s new girlfriend, Chloe, who he refers to as an “American peasant”, seeing her as a bad influence for James III. He does love his grandson, but due to his son and daughter in law dying in a car accident, he isn’t very good at displaying affection. Believes that the Americans are uncivilized, idiotic, arrogant and selfish due to his resentment of Chloe.
