Down-on-his-luck private eye Jerry Jacobson (Ben Affleck) gets hired by cartoon producer Walter Jones (Kiefer Sutherland) to investigate Ronnie Anne, the girlfriend of Nelson's biggest star, Lincoln Loud the man with a plan. But when Bruce Nelson (Jeffrey Tambor), the owner of Nickelodeon, is found murdered, the villainous Judge Earl (J. K. Simmons) vows to catch and destroy Lincoln.
