Synopsis

In the 1750s, inspired by his half-brother Lawrence, George Washington enlists in the army of Virginia. The battles he will face will teach him important lessons, setting him up for his future role as the President of the United States.

Description of 1738 George Washington (Younger version [opening flashback]):

"I cannot tell a lie." In the film's opening sequence, we see a young George Washington receive a hatchet from his father for his 6th birthday, and play with it. He damages his father's cherry tree in the process... or did he? Washington may have been honest in real life, but the cherry tree anecdote is a myth. Regardless, I'm including it here to provide some characterization for Washington's personality later on.
