Ben Parker lived in a commune for a short time before he met his wife, May. A kind and good-natured man, Ben found married life agreeable and his family welcomed his wife as one of their own. However after his brother and sister-in-law die on a plane crash Ben and her wife take care of thier nephew Peter as their own son. However shortly after telling his nephew that with "Great Power Comes Great Responsibility", Ben was short by a common crook eventually inspiring his nephew to become Spider-Man.
