Description of Lucy Witwicky (Spike's Mom):
Now, Lucy appears in the movie basically since we get introduced to the human characters. But she only really becomes important to the plot near the end of Act 2, when she meets the Autobots while looking for Spike and Sparkplug. And while she starts off skeptical of their intentions, she soon starts to see the Autobots as Family, and even joins S.T.A.R.S.
