After the fake demise of Batman, Dick Grayson, formerly the Robin, must now forge his own path as Gotham's new savior and protector, while his mentor lives in solitude with Selina Kyle elsewhere in Albania. However, as Dick, now the superhero known as Nightwing, finds himself fighting alongside the Justice League, he realizes that he can't just mop up the streets of Gotham and other parts of the world, like Bludhaven, by himself or with Barbara Gordon, otherwise known as Batgirl. With this, Dick travels the globe in search of building his own team, having one name for it echoing in his head... The Titans. This being a prequel to the events of Batman: The Dark Knight Returns.
