Rose DeWitt BukKater (17), a suicidal and her family are travelling in First Class on the RMS Titanic, but life isn't very happy for her. She meets Jack Dawson (20) who convinces her to stay with him and get a better life. However, her bratty fiancee Cal (30) doesn't like the thought of her breaking it off with him and going to date someone from the Third Class. Caledon Nathan Hockley, or just Cal (14 May 1881-21 December 1929) was the heir to the Pittsburgh Hockley Steel™ (also known as HockSteel™) fortune from his father Neil. He is engaged to 16-year-old Rose DeWitt BukKater and travels on board the RMS Titanic to claim the fortune from his father. While on board, there's a little mishap with Rose and a third-class gentleman, Jack. Cal, with no choice, invites him to dinner. Later that night he gives Rose a very expensive diamond necklace. Throughout the voyage watch as Cal yells at, hits, frames, and arrests Jack while trying to track down Rose.
