Story about a famous painting by Italian painter Tintoretto that is gifted to the Neogi family by the Cassini family. When a family member steals the painting, international buyers become interested and Bengali detective Feluda is tasked with solving the mystery. Feluda must navigate a web of criminals, including an international buyer, a corrupt arts agent, henchmen, and impostors, and eventually succeeds with the help of a stranger who turns out to be a Neogi family member.
