Jay Garrick is accidentally struck by lightning and given the power of super speed, with this power he fights crime in the city. Eventually he gets the attention of Dr. Eobard Thawne and the Speedforce, who help him in controlling his power. However it’s all a ploy by Thawne to capture and kill Jay, eventually they end up fighting after Thawne injects himself with Jay’s blood, giving him super speed too.
