Mackenzie Rio Davis (born April 1, 1987) is a Canadian actress, producer, and model. She's known for her TV roles as Cameron Howe on AMC's Halt and Catch Fire, and Kristen Raymonde on the miniseries Station Eleven, this latter role earned her a Critics' Choice Super Award for Best Actress in a Science Fiction/Fantasy Series. She's also known for her film roles as Grace Harper in Terminator: Dark Fate, the title character in Tully, Mariette in Blade Runner 2049, Mindy Park in The Martian, Chelsea in That Awkward Moment, and Nicole in What If (original title: The F Word), for this last role she was nominated for the Canadian Screen Award for Best Supporting Actress.
Loki escapes his Asgardian cell, liberating Enchantress and the Executioner to orchestrate a coup. Desperate to seize the throne, Loki revives the primordial fire demon Surtur, the prophesied architect of Ragnarok. Surtur plunges his Twilight Sword into the Eternal Flame, unleashing his true form upon Asgard. As the city burns, Thor, Beta Ray Bill, Lady Sif, Baldur the Brave, and the Warriors Three mobilize a mass evacuation. King Odin fights Surtur in a final clash, but the fire demon's empowered might proves stronger, and he kills the All-Father. Watching Odin's lifeless body fall, a horrified silence grips Loki. The crushing weight of his betrayal hits him; his quest for validation has destroyed his childhood home. Reforming, Loki turns to fight alongside Thor and Baldur. Amidst the chaos, Enchantress and Executioner flee the realm. The battle turns catastrophic as Volstagg is crushed to death, and Loki seemingly perishes in crossfire. In a final, heroic act to contain the demon, Baldur shatters a massive archway with his sword, collapsing the structure onto Surtur and himself. The sacrifice claims Baldur's life, but only injures Surtur, who slowly rises from the rubble. Realizing Asgard is lost, Thor leads the survivors to the chamber of the Loom of Fate. Done playing pawn to ancient prophecies, Thor grabs the Loom and rips it apart in a fit of rage and clarity, shattering Yggdrasil, the World Tree, to break the cycle of destruction forever. Heimdall unleashes the Bifrost's absolute maximum power to transport the surviving Asgardians to Earth. Refusing to leave his king, Heimdall sacrifices his own life to anchor the portal, ensuring Thor escapes just as Surtur obliterates the kingdom. The refugees land in the rural countryside near the New York-Canada border. Mourning their losses alondside Hogun, Fandral, Lady Sif, and Beta Ray Bill, Thor declares that Asgard is a people, not a place. After days of trekking through wilderness, the survivors discover a valley.
