Synopsis

This remake will take place in the same universe as the most-recent "Wicked" movie with Ariana Grande as Glinda and Cynthia Erivo as the Wicked Witch of the West. A little girl in Kansas named Dorothy Gale is hurled away by a tornado (along with her house and her dog, Toto), to a magical land called "Oz." Upon arriving, she is welcomed by a good witch named Glinda and the Munchkins. Her house crushed a wicked witch to death, resulting in their freedom. Not quite though. The Wicked Witch of the West vows to avenge her sister by all means possibly, like killing a Kansas girl. To go home, Dorothy follows the Yellow Brick Road to the Emerald City and meet the Wizard of Oz to grant to her wish. Along the way, she meets a talking Scarecrow in need of a brain, a Tin Man in need of a heart, and a Cowardly Lion in need of courage.
