Synopsis

"Days Gone Bye" begins the story of Rick Grimes, a sheriff's deputy from Kentucky, who is wounded in action and emerges from a coma to find the world plagued by the undead. Upon returning home, he finds his house ransacked and his wife and son gone. Rick travels to a military evacuation zone in Atlanta to find his family and joins a small group of survivors along the way, all the while trying to adapt to life in this new world.

  • tylerhamilton Before the outbreak, Dale was a salesman for over forty years, sitting behind a desk answering a phone. When he retired, he bought a camper and decided to travel America with his wife, Erma. He spent two years traveling the U.S. when the outbreak happened.

  • tylerhamilton Early in the zombie uprising, Dale lost his wife, Erma. Soon after this, he picked up two sisters, Andrea & Amy, near Atlanta, Georgia, and sets up a camp near a rock quarry. When Rick arrives at the camp, Dale reveals his suspicions that Shane and Lori are having an affair, which Rick, in turn, ignores. Later, Dale discovers that beheading a zombie doesn't fully kill them when he saves Donna from being bitten by a "roamer".

  • tylerhamilton Later one night during dinner, Rick asks the group about their lives before, Dale reveals that he was a retired car salesman on a road trip with his wife across America two years prior to the Zombie outbreak. During this, after his wife is killed, he picked up Amy & Andrea heading to Atlanta. When Amy is killed by a roaming zombie, Dale tries his best to console Andrea, only to be met with cold silence.
