Synopsis

A direct sequel to Henry VIII, Part I. While Part I deals with Henry's early reign all the way up to his break with Rome, Part II focuses on how, faced with absolute power, he descends into tyranny and madness.

Description of Anne Boleyn (Queen of England):

A short-tempered yet charismatic and intelligent young woman, Anne is introduced to Henry; by her father, Lord Thomas Boleyn; who wishes to improve his own social standing; by having one of his daughters seduce the king. She infatuates Henry; by refusing to be his mistress; which only increases Henry's desire to marry her. She is part of a conspiracy; with her father and her uncle, the Duke of Norfolk to ruin their longtime enemy, Cardinal Wolsey.
