Synopsis

Among the rolling hills of Italy, two remarkably opposite sisters have become the center of attention for every unmarried man in Padua. The younger, Bianca, has lovely features, a sweet personality, and three desperate suitors. However, her father, Baptista, will not allow anyone to marry her until his elder daughter, Katharina, has found a husband. The trouble is that Katharina is vicious and rude, abusing man who dares to come near her...which isn't many! It is just beginning to look like Bianca will be forever off-limits, when a boisterous out-of-towner named Petruchio comes swaggering in. He is out to marry a rich woman--looks and attitude no matter at all to him, as long as she has enough money. As Petruchio pits his violent will against Katharina's, a three-way battle to win Bianca's heart ensues.

Description of Petruchio:

Petruchio, a rambunctious and strong-willed gentleman from Verona, has come to Padua for two reasons: to visit his best friend Hortensio, and to find himself a wife. When he learns of Katharina, a woman of wealth and absolutely no suitors, he can't help but be intrigued. Despite Hortensio's warnings that Katharina is mean-tempered and cruel, Petruchio determines to take up the challenge of "taming" her with his equally fiery personality.
