Synopsis

Among the rolling hills of Italy, two remarkably opposite sisters have become the center of attention for every unmarried man in Padua. The younger, Bianca, has lovely features, a sweet personality, and three desperate suitors. However, her father, Baptista, will not allow anyone to marry her until his elder daughter, Katharina, has found a husband. The trouble is that Katharina is vicious and rude, abusing man who dares to come near her...which isn't many! It is just beginning to look like Bianca will be forever off-limits, when a boisterous out-of-towner named Petruchio comes swaggering in. He is out to marry a rich woman--looks and attitude no matter at all to him, as long as she has enough money. As Petruchio pits his violent will against Katharina's, a three-way battle to win Bianca's heart ensues.

Description of Katharina:

Katharina is the elder daughter of Baptista and the sister of gentle Bianca. Known for her fits of rage and violence, Katharina has never had a single suitor...and she likes it that way! As far as she is concerned, any man interested in her had better stay out of the way unless he wants his head smashed. So when brash and obnoxious Petruchio shows up, begging for her hand in marriage, she's not sure whether to be flabbergasted or furious! Before she knows it, the two are ridiculously wed, and she finds that as far as temper is concerned, she has met her match.
