Synopsis

Among the rolling hills of Italy, two remarkably opposite sisters have become the center of attention for every unmarried man in Padua. The younger, Bianca, has lovely features, a sweet personality, and three desperate suitors. However, her father, Baptista, will not allow anyone to marry her until his elder daughter, Katharina, has found a husband. The trouble is that Katharina is vicious and rude, abusing man who dares to come near her...which isn't many! It is just beginning to look like Bianca will be forever off-limits, when a boisterous out-of-towner named Petruchio comes swaggering in. He is out to marry a rich woman--looks and attitude no matter at all to him, as long as she has enough money. As Petruchio pits his violent will against Katharina's, a three-way battle to win Bianca's heart ensues.

Description of Bianca:

Bianca is the younger daughter of Baptista, popular for her remarkable beauty and serene personality. Needless to say, she has plenty of suitors to occupy her time, such as wealthy Gremio, mannered Hortensio and charming Lucentio. Regardless, it looks like she may never have a husband of her own when Baptista insists that her abusive sister, Katharina, be married first. It all looks hopeless until roguish Petruchio shows up, inexplicably asking to marry her cruel elder sister and providing her with three men begging for her hand.
