Along the way they meet a bunch of classic Mario characters good and evil (Wario, Daisy, Donkey Kong, and Birdo), the lore behind the Mushroom Kingdom, and the Princess' missing parents the King and Queen. This animated adventure also includes a live-action short featuring Mario and Luigi on their biggest adventure in Brooklyn outside their basement.
