After the death of James McCloud, his team Star Fox was disbanded almost immediately before the maniacal scientist Andross launched a huge army on the Lylat system, and so began the Lylat Wars. Five years later, James' son Fox McCloud is a rookie at the Cornerian Military Academy. After an attack on Corneria by Star Wolf, Fox wanted to revive his father's legacy and reinstate Star Fox.
