The Spider-Man Part II is a 2019 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man, co-produced by Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios, and distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing. It is the sequel to The Spider-Man (2017) and the 23rd film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film was directed by Matt Reeves, written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, and stars Tom Holland, Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Timothee Chalamet, Kiernan Shipka, Katherine McNamara, Zendaya, J. B. Smoove, Jacob Batalon, Martin Starr, Tony Revolori, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Jake Gyllenhaal. In the film, Parker is recruited Mysterio to face the Elementals while he is on a school trip to Europe and must try and fix his relationship with Harry after a fallout so many years ago. The Spider-Man Part II premiered at the TCL Chinese Theatre on June 26, 2019, and was theatrically released in the United States on July 2, as the second to last film in Phase Three of the MCU. The film received positive reviews with praise for its humor, Dark Tone, action sequences, visuals, and the performances of Holland and Gyllenhaal.
