Fan Casting Parting Ways in The Spectacular Spider-Man 2

The Green Goblin crashed Midtown's graduation ceremony and murdered Captain George Stacy. Spider-Man defeats the Goblin and finds that his suspicions were right: Norman Osborn is the Green Goblin. But it isn't that simple. Norman insists that he didn't do anything wrong, that it was all the Goblin's fault, that it is a separate entity, all without a hint of deceit in his voice. Norman is apprehended, but sent to a psych ward instead of prison. Spider-Man failed to save Gwen's father and sent away Harry's. And Peter was nowhere to be seen. Gwen breaks up with him and isolates herself, while Harry now has a giant corporation to run; both develop a seething hatred for Spider-Man. All three were planning to go to MIT, but with Gwen and Harry in grief, and Peter losing his Oscorp scholarship, the trio's future is in ruins
