Two clerics (Gary Oldman, Philip Seymour Hoffman) discover proof that God doesn't exist on an archaeological dig and engage in a drug-addled killing spree as they realize there will be no divine retribution for their actions. However, they run into tumult when they're pursued by a dying hitman (Nick Nolte) who doesn't want the evidence to get out.
