An alternate version of Otto Octavius aka Doc Ock, appears in the MCU, meeting up with an alternate version of Norman Osborne aka Green Goblin. They then team up and came up with their own version of Sinister Six. This Doc Ock was revealed to be Andrew Garfield's version of Doc Ock, just slightly different. He is a millionaire and engineer like the MCU Green Goblin, but he was let go from his previous job. He also lost his wife due to Andrew's Spider-Man being busy with 2 crimes to end. Doc Ock outraged by this, and swears to destroy Spider-Man. But when he is transported to the MCU and encounters it's Green Goblin, Green Goblin offers Doc Ock an job at his soon-to-be business Oscorp.
