After the events with the Star Sapphires, Knuckles went back to Angel Island where he was visited by an unexpected surprise: another echidna named Julie-Su! She came from the Lost Tribe of Echidnas in the hidden caves of Chaos, a refuge for Echidnas. But Julie-Su needs Knuckles' help because a powerful enemy was attacking them and has sworn its life to wipe out the Echidnas! Knuckles believed his entire life that he was the last of his kind, but now he gets the chance to save them all! Description of Mighty the Armadillo:

During the events of the last movie, and practically every time Knuckles left Angel Island, Mighty and Ray have protected the Master Emerald in Knuckles' absence, which explains theirs. On this adventure, Mighty asked Espio if he could guard it while they're gone, and of course the Chameleon accepted. Mighty will do his best to help Knuckles, Ray, Rob, Julie-Su, and the rest of the Echidnas fight Enerjak. He wasn't doubtful about fighting Enerjak until he heard the stories and saw the hieroglyphs. But Mighty's loyalty overshadowed his doubt.
