In 1938 Los Angeles, young stunt pilot Cliff Secord stumbles upon a mysterious experimental rocket pack hidden in his hangar after a gangster shootout. The invention, created by eccentric billionaire Howard Hughes, allows its wearer to fly, and Cliff soon dons the device to become the masked hero known as The Rocketeer. While testing his newfound abilities, Cliff becomes entangled in a dangerous web involving the mob, the FBI, and Hollywood star Neville Sinclair, who is secretly a Nazi agent intent on stealing the rocket to aid Hitler’s plans for world domination. As the stakes rise, Cliff must protect his girlfriend, aspiring actress Jenny Blake, from Sinclair’s clutches and prove himself as more than just a reckless pilot.
