Synopsis

The series chronicles Ike Turner's rise from humble beginnings in Clarksdale, Mississippi, to become a musical prodigy, bandleader, and the architect of what many call the first rock 'n' roll record. As the visionary behind Ike & Tina Turner, his drive and genius helped create timeless music, but his demons, destructive relationships, and struggles with addiction would unravel his career and tarnish his legacy.

Description of Patricia Cole (P. P. Arnold):

Patricia Ann Cole, known professionally as P. P. Arnold, is an American soul singer. She began her career as an Ikette with the Ike & Tina Turner Revue in 1965. The following year she relocated to London to pursue a solo career. Arnold enjoyed considerable success in the United Kingdom with her singles "The First Cut Is the Deepest" (1967) and "Angel of the Morning" (1968).
