Mia is a 15-year-old girl who lives with her mother in San Francisco. Suddenly, she discovers that her father is the Prince of Genovia, a small European country. She receives a visit from her newly discovered grandmother, who starts giving her etiquette lessons, teaching her how a princess should behave.
