Synopsis

"The Princess and the Pauper" follows the story of two girls similar in appearance but different in background: Princess Anneliese and Erika the pauper. Description of Bertha/"Bertie" (The Dressmaker):

A Scottish-accented seamstress under the employ of Madame Carp and a mother figure to Erika. Through reasons unknown, she ended up indebted to Madame Carp and was put to work in her dress emporium. She later assisted Anneliese in getting a message to the castle, and is freed from servitude at the end.
