It's been forty years since Bastian had read the book. He's now older in his mid 30s and he's an author. He published a book called, "My NeverEnding Story". His son named, Bastian Bux Jr., doesn't believe that his father actually was in Fantasia for real. Bastian makes his son believe him by taking him to the library where he took the book. Bastian gives his son the book that has many creative creatures and characters with the Auryn symbol on the cover. The next day, while Bastian is at work, his son takes the book that his dad read while he was at school and starts reading it at home. Atreyu now has his friend Artax who people were so confused about how he came back to life at th end of the original movie. Bastian gets sucked into the book and starts to wonder about what the story is about. He meets some very interesting creatures and characters.
