The Mysterymen are a team (more like a gang, really) of blue-collar superheroes who can't make the big leagues because of a variety of flaws: mediocre powers, ridiculous (even for superheroes) costumes, behavioural problems and severe character flaws, terrible reputations, etc. Unable to find a team who would take them, they formed their own.
