The Mummy Returns (2001) follows Rick and Evelyn O’Connell, now married with a young son, Alex, who accidentally activates the mystical Bracelet of Anubis, setting off a chain of events that resurrects the ancient priest Imhotep. Imhotep, aided by his lover Anck-su-namun, seeks to defeat the Scorpion King and command his army to rule the world. When Alex is kidnapped to lead them to the Scorpion King’s oasis, Rick and Evelyn—joined by Evelyn’s brother Jonathan and Medjai warrior Ardeth Bay—race across Egypt to save him. In a final showdown at Ahm Shere, Rick battles the monstrous Scorpion King, destroys the army of Anubis, and saves his family, while Imhotep meets his end once again.
