Synopsis

Gwynplaine, a kindhearted circus performer with a permanent smile realizes he is the sole heir of a royal nobleman and becomes a pawn to a vile duchess and her devious jester. Gwynplaine also tries not to let his newly found royalty get in the way of his performing life and his romantic relationship with Dea, a blind girl.
