Jonathan Sims, the newly-appointed Head Archivist of the Magnus Institute (a London based academic institute focusing on the academic study & research into the unnatural and paranormal) attempts to reorganize the Institute's neglected and unruly supernatural statements into a cohesive structure. As he begins to catalogue and convert the unusual statements to give those exposed to the paranormal a form of closure, Jonathan finds himself unsettled by what he uncovers; at first, the statements are just unnerving, but a picture begins to gradually come into focus. Soon, Jonathan and his archival team realise that things are not as they first seemed, and that great and sinister forces are looking to change the course of history.
