Emmet and Lucy along with their son Max and the rest of the gang were going on a cruise vacation to celebrate their anniversary together until a huge and horrible storm leaves Emmet and the gang stranded on a tropical island in the middle of nowhere known as the Mixels island home to the Mixels and then while trying to find a way off the island Emmet and the rest of the gang had ran into two inhabitants of the island Pepper Roni the pizza delivery boy and Clutch Powers Emmet’s long lost father as well some colorful and magical creatures known as the Mixels who are a race of mixed up monsters that can be combined from one Mixel to another Mixel with the power of the Cubit which one of the most powerful bricks in the world since the dawn of the Mixels the Mixels had used the power of the Cubit to create so that they can solve problems and to protect their home from their arch nemesis of the Nixels who are a evil race of black and white monsters that were led by their king until his death a long time ago but a new villain who is the new king of the Nixels who has brought Rex Dangervest back to life wants to steal the Cubit he believed that he can corrupt its power so he can recreate the universe in his own image by turning it into a world of black and white zombies in order to conquer the universe Emmet and the rest of the gang have to team up with The Mixels in order to stop the new king Nixel from using the power of The Cubit to destroy the universe and save Emmet’s son Max
