The Kingfisher
After escaping an abusive arranged marriage and killing two nobles in self‑defense, Mary Ormond flees into the night and washes ashore in Nassau. There she becomes entangled with Edward “Blackbeard” Thatch — a lonely pirate king trapped inside his own legend. As the Empire hunts them both, Mary rises from overlooked noblewoman to the mythic outlaw known as The Kingfisher, a symbol of freedom, clarity, and survival in a world determined to cage her.
