Set in the 70's, we'll slow down the transformation process, really diving into the body horror of it all. lean into practical effects. i even prefer cheap practical effects over cgi. show somekind of cosmic horror of how he got infected in the first place. Maybe flashbacks and old colleagues Honor the character, Steve West. and everything else we'll keep pretty much the same, random people stumbling across paths with The Incredible Melting Man (large kill count), while the Nelsons try to hunt him down and figure out what their dealing with.
