Synopsis

Ripped from the arms of his friends and family in District 12 to fight in the deadly Hunger Games, young Haymitch Abernathy must begin training to fight several kids from other Districts in Panem, in order to survive the deadly games. Little does Haymitch know, however, that if he wins the Games, the victory will cost him dearly...

Description of Chaff Gordon (45th victor, District 11):

The leader of a large anti-Career tribute alliance in his arena, Chaff had always been a loose cannon in the eyes of the Capitol. Upon meeting Haymitch Abernathy before the Games, Chaff encouraged him to give his best shot in the arena and became one of his closest friends after their events. A dissident to the Capitol almost as soon as he could walk, Chaff is one of the most memorable victors of his generation and an inspiration to Haymitch.
