Set 20 years after the events of Mockingjay, "Embers of Defiance" takes place in a Panem where two new districts, District 13's former ally District 14 (New Havana) and the long-lost District 15 (Aurora), have been reintroduced into the Hunger Games. The 92nd Hunger Games have begun, and this time, the stakes are higher than ever. The oppressive Capitol, seeking to crush the growing rebellion, has introduced a new, ruthless Gamemaker and a treacherous arena designed to annihilate the tributes. Among the 28 tributes is 17-year-old Maya Blackwood from District 14, a skilled fighter and hacker, and 18-year-old Adam Stone from District 15, an enigmatic and deadly marksman. As alliances are forged and broken, Maya and Elijah must rely on their wits, strength, and defiance to survive the arena and ignite the flames of revolution across Panem.
