When Mia Dearden Queen was 12 years old she lost her brother, mother, and father to a horrible shipwreck where everyone was declared dead. Walter Steele, the CFO of Queen Consolidated at the time, became CEO upon Robert Queens death, and he also would go on to adopt Mia so that one day she could take her place at her families company. But Mia chased after drugs and alcohol to try to cope with the loss of her family, much to Walters dismay. However when she was getting close to turning 17, she went to Walter willingly looking for help to getaway from her addictions. So Walter took her under his wing and started to prepare her for her future at the company.
