Valyn is the second child of Sanlitun, one year older than Kaden at 19. He would be heir to the throne, but he lacks the glowing eyes. Valyn joined the Kettral the same week Kaden left for the Shin monastery. It has never been clear to him whether he was accepted into the elite fighting force because of his nascent talent, or due to his family name, but in the years since, he has worked his ass off to prove that he belongs.
