The Defenders: The Secret Crusade is a 2017 American Superhero film that was directed by Gore Verbinski, produced by Kevin Feige and distributed by Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Pictures. The tells the story of the Defenders finding magical artifacts that relate to a ancient war that started in 1189. The film stars Charlie Cox, Krysten Ritter, Mike Colter, Finn Jones, Elodie Yung, Taylor Johnson, Selena Gomez, Elden Henson, Deborah Ann Woll, Rosario Dawson, Oscar Isaac, Kit Harington, Sophie Turner, Richard Madden, Maisie Williams, Sean Bean, Samala Hayek, Khalid Al Dallab, Emilia Clarke, Jack Gleeson, Lena Headey and Kenneth Brannagh. The Defenders: The Secret Crusade released on August 15th 2017 to positive reviews. Critic's praised the film's tone, characters, performances (particularly Harington, Turner and Bean), Action Scenes and it's depiction of the third crusade although it was criticized for not having a real villain.
